Expatsradio brings you another hidden secret to visit on your holidays. The Biggest Show in the World is the latest Expatsradio.com programme from Carmen Konopka, Editor of Destination France Magazine, when she enjoys the spectacular Cinéscénie performance at the Puy du Fou in the Vendée.
Some 1,200 volunteer actors are on stage for Cinéscénie, along with 60 horses, a laser light show, fireworks, dancing fountains, goats, donkeys, pigs... The show is performed every Friday and Saturday night during the summer months and tells the history of the Vendée, including the civil war caused by the French Revolution.
Also on the site is le Grand Parc, a theme park owned by the association of local volunteers, which tells the history of France. Its arenas have performances ranging from Roman chariot races to Viking invasions, from bird ballets to Richelieu's Musketeers on horseback.
