You will have noticed that things are still changing on Expats Radio sometimes every few minutes! We've just added some rolling news about travel and issues that might interest you. If you have things you'd like us to cover you can reach us via the contact link on every page of the Expats Radio site. We're also bringing in more of the organisations you like to speak to and asking them to make regular features with us so that you will have a voice not only in blogs but also on our station.
Just talking about beer in Germany on Twitter and someone asked me where did all those beers go that we used to enjoy in the past? Anyone remember the party can or Watney's Red Barrel? Jagermeister cocktails are in but what about a glass of shandy? Spritzer or cocktails maybe but shandy..... and does anyone care?
I can't quite believe that we are in the weekend again. It seems especially odd because the sun is shining here on Dartmoor and an Indian Summer is in prospect! You will have seen Penny's new recipe this week and she will be with us again every Thursday with another delicious recipe for you to try. We have added a Clear Blues show from Terry Clear and the new property shows are also going to appear with the offer of a 5% discount on estate agency fees for featured houses if you register for our newsletter.
No matter what sort of house you would like to buy in France or elsewhere don't make a move until you have had a look at our new property section which will be coming to you from next week. Another property section I hear you say… well,….yes but with a difference, we shall not be bombarding you with properties from agencies, we're going to select just a few in different price ranges from around Europe and bring them to you with a terrific package including a specially negotiated discount on the agency fees of 5% for listeners who have signed up to our newsletter!
I've just had an e-mail from Cards for Charity who suggest that our listeners might want to buy cards and support good causes. We don't know this organisation but whether you use them or not perhaps we should all be thinking about those less fortunate than ourselves. Anyway, here is the message they sent to Expatsradio so that you can judge for yourselves:
Does anyone have suggestions for the best Christmas fairs to attend in Europe? I've been asked several times but apart from a couple I've visited, I have no idea which ones are worth your time and travel to get to. I guess there are those with big processions and others where you get to walk around food stalls and get ideas for presents and the Christmas decorations. All ideas very welcome.
I've been asked if I can remind everyone that apart for entering our competitions, which you all are thank you, we also need to think about requests for our music shows as these are made in advance. If you'd like to send a greeting all you have to do is use the contact link on any page of the website and tell what you'd like us to play for you and in whose show. We'll make sure you get in and make someone's Christmas!
I can't remember when we last had such odd topics being sent to us. For example, how many of you have had blue honey...a phone bill in the millions or a request for a job interview from the CIA? That's the kind of start it's been.
Yes, Expatsradio contributors have been at it again with a wide variety of topics for next week here on your favourite station. We've also been promised some more offers for you including signed copies of new books. We shall be talking to Tim Gorringe and Martin Adams about the rise of the free magazine both in the UK and abroad. They run the highly successful e themagazine in Sussex which reaches over 20,000 homes every two months and is planning to expand even farther.
We welcome Penny of Penny's recipes to Expatsradio.com where she will be bringing us new ideas from her kitchen. This time she is making mincemeat following two recipes. Join her here every week on Thursdays.
Expats radio was started at the end of 2005 as a small test website to see if anybody would actually be interested in talking to us or listening to what we had to say. The answer? A resounding yes! Since then through a number of exciting developments and collaborations we have become even better. Read more
