News and changes

Thu, 10/25/2012 - 13:03 -- peteranstis

You will have noticed that things are still changing on Expats Radio sometimes every few minutes! We've just added some rolling news about travel and issues that might interest you. If you have things you'd like us to cover you can reach us via the contact link on every page of the Expats Radio site. We're also bringing in more of the organisations you like to speak to and asking them to make regular features with us so that you will have a voice not only in blogs but also on our station.

Beer or not?

Mon, 10/22/2012 - 14:32 -- peteranstis

Just talking about beer in Germany on Twitter and someone asked me where did all those beers go that we used to enjoy in the past? Anyone remember the party can or Watney's Red Barrel? Jagermeister cocktails are in but what about a glass of shandy? Spritzer or cocktails maybe but shandy..... and does anyone care?

Weekend again!

Sat, 10/20/2012 - 15:13 -- peteranstis

I can't quite believe that we are in the weekend again. It seems especially odd because the sun is shining here on Dartmoor and an Indian Summer is in prospect! You will have seen Penny's new recipe this week and she will be with us again every Thursday with another delicious recipe for you to try. We have added a Clear Blues show from Terry Clear and the new property shows are also going to appear with the offer of a 5% discount on estate agency fees for featured houses if you register for our newsletter.

Cards for charity

Wed, 10/17/2012 - 11:56 -- peteranstis

I've just had an e-mail from Cards for Charity who suggest that our listeners might want to buy cards and support good causes. We don't know this organisation but whether you use them or not perhaps we should all be thinking about those less fortunate than ourselves. Anyway, here is the message they sent to Expatsradio so that you can judge for yourselves:

The best European Christmas fairs?

Tue, 10/16/2012 - 16:44 -- peteranstis

Does anyone have suggestions for the best Christmas fairs to attend in Europe? I've been asked several times but apart from a couple I've visited, I have no idea which ones are worth your time and travel to get to. I guess there are those with big processions and others where you get to walk around food stalls and get ideas for presents and the Christmas decorations. All ideas very welcome.

Get your requests in for Christmas

Tue, 10/16/2012 - 16:11 -- peteranstis

I've been asked if I can remind everyone that apart for entering our competitions, which you all are thank you, we also need to think about requests for our music shows as these are made in advance. If you'd like to send a greeting all you have to do is use the contact link on any page of the website and tell what you'd like us to play for you and in whose show. We'll make sure you get in and make someone's Christmas!
