Applications to Represent UK in the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 Now Open

A specialist events company, offering activity-based experiences, has launched a competition to find two people from the UK to represent Britain in the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 in Germany next month. Applications are now open for people to submit their entries and no previous sledding experience or particularly high fitness levels are required.

An events and experience company in the UK has been tasked with selecting two people to represent the UK at the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 in February.

Chillisauce.co.uk has teamed up with the event organisers and has officially launched the competition to find two Britons who want to represent the UK at the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014, due to be held in Germany next month.

The annual Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 will be taking place on Saturday 15th February, in the spa town of Braunlage in the Harz Mountains, Germany. The championship last took place in 2012, when more than 3,000 people applied to take part, with 30 being selected to represent their countries (two individual representatives per country - 17 men and 13 women). The event attracted a crowd of more than 25,000 spectators. This will be the first time in the history of the championship that the UK will be represented.

The sledding outfit for competitors taking part in the championship consists of a helmet, shoes and pants or shorts. The winner is the person who conquers the 89.0 metre sledding distance and is first on target at the finish line, all whilst naked (with the exception of their footwear, helmet and underwear to cover their modesty).

At 4pm, when the naked sled race begins, the skiing area surrounding the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 course will transform into a party area; with an after-party to close the event.

Chillisauce.co.uk is also set to launch tailored weekend packages to attend the event as a spectator, which people will be able to purchase soon.

Following the applications received in the next couple of weeks, 10 finalists will be selected by the Chillisauce.co.uk team and then the public will be able to vote for the two individuals who they believe should represent the UK at the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014.

For those who think they have what it takes to compete at the event, the application form can be completed online on the Chillisauce.co.uk website at http://blog.chillisauce.co.uk/application-form

The two finalists who are selected to represent the UK in the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014 will have their flights and accommodation paid for, and will need to be available to travel on the evening of Friday 14th February, returning on Sunday 16th February. No previous sledding experience is required and all fitness levels can apply. Applicants should not apply as a pair as winners be selected as individuals.

A video has been created by Chillisauce.co.uk to mark the launch of the competition, which can be viewed on the following blog http://blog.chillisauce.co.uk/naked-sledding-race-world-championship/

Mike Chidzey, spokesperson for Chillisauce.co.uk, said the following:

“We’re incredibly excited about the fact that the UK has been given two spaces at the Naked Sledding World Championship 2014, not to mention that we’ve been given the opportunity to find the two lucky contestants. We’re looking for contestants who are up for a laugh, not afraid of stripping off and up for the challenge of trying to win the race! In previous years, the championship have proved to be hugely popular and, with it being the very first year that the UK will be competing, we want everyone to get behind the finalists when they are selected!”
